my books are at home, but I guess you are referring to the pics with the deformed aluminium around the quick jacks.
just look at it, imagine you have to slide in a jack which they use at the track.
you want the brackets to point down (naturally) and with the longer end closer to the chassis, to allow for better, easier fitment in a hurry.
yes, flexing would also be reduced.
and of course, you need a long garage for that...
but look at pictures in this part of the forum to find out about the construction of the radiator frame to get an idea how it needs to be build to allow for lifting.
I'm sure one did post a picture showing this part.
