The shotgun's recoil does tend to tire a guy out, after the adrenalin wears off. My 4" Smith 44 Special, makes almost as much noise, certainly has stopping power, comes out from under the bed quicker, and would require less clean up of scattered body parts. Also, smaller holes in the dry wall are easier to repair, although with light loads, I don't worry much about going through my walls and the neighbor's walls, causing injury to innocent bystanders. Yep, that's me...always thinking of my fellow man.
