I used a piece of flexible nylon, 9" x 2" x 1/2 thick, with 400 grit wet sandpaper for all the curved surfaces, which is almost 80% of the car. For the flat surfaces, I used the 3M stickit 400 dry paper to get it flat, then wen't over it with a shorter block and 400 wet paper.

Before I primed the car, I blocked the entire body with 3M Stickit 180 grit paper with the 9" flexible block on the curved surfaces and a 17" board on the flat surfaces. After priming, the body was very flat when I blocked with 400 wet paper.
