Chris,

Some good suggestions here. With a little thrashing you could be back on the road in a day. If next Saturday is nice, I'll be up at Elkhart Lake and the other guys'll probably be drag racing but if the weather's crappy, we could all get together again and drop Ed's motor in your car, slap your heads and intake on it and you'd be ready to go. If not Saturday, maybe Sunday. Meantime, you could pull the intake and heads off your motor and see just where the problem is. If you use Ed's short block and yours can be sleeved, you could still enjoy your car for the rest of the fall and reinstall your motor over the winter. Minimal down time and minimal expense. Whaddaya say?

Or...we could put Ralph's motor in your car and paint it half red...
