Craig, it was a double. My brother John took out King Cobra, with buggered clutch and all.
I think nearly everyone made serious improvements on their times from last year.
QLDers brought back a swag of trophies, but boy, it was a lot tougher and closer than the results suggest. Every trophy was hard fought.
The biggest story from the Nationals was Yve's 1:11 in the Sprints. This girl can seriously compete against the boys. Just goes to show that virtually stock 5lt engines are competitive when set up right and driven right. Give Yve a bit more HP and things would get rather interesting(embarrassing) for the boys.
The quality of cars on display at the show & shine was amazing. After walking around I reckon there were at least a dozen Cobra's capable of taking out the show, glad I wasn't a judge. Although I did note our old Cobra(9 years old in fact) took out 4th place in the show& shine. I hear from the new owner(Brett Hughes), a rebuild is on the cards now, well overdue in my books, will be great to see that old car in her glory again.
