I don't want to coat my sidepipes, seen to many with 'burn marks' or other irregularities that are basically permanent. You don't want to paint coated sidepipes, sometimes you can't clean them up, your stuck.
I use a standard VHT (very high temperature) paint to touch up mine from time to time. Or even change the color as the mood strikes me. I've had them white and black (black is easier to touch up).
Local Auto Parts store usually has the paint. For a QUICK touch up, I've noticed simply a 'light scrubbing' with a 3M pad touches them up quite nicely and blends in with the overall paint cover very nicely. You might try that on an obscure part before you 'break out the paint'.
