I can see it's tough for a single man operation.
You're also right, it's a great competition. Jud Massengill, Mark Mckeown, Bob Lathrop, Kaase and Bischoff plus all the other hard thinking and working entrants all see the benefit of the exposure. Hemis, Buicks, BBC, SBC, a Cadillac (!) and a ton of various Fords.
A lot of friends and rivalrys are made at these things.
