Thanks for all the help, I think I got it worked out. This is the
oil pressure guage and I also have always thought some air in the line wouln't hurt. Here's what happened. I had to change a fitting on the back of the gauge for some more room, the fitting that was on there was hitting the heater box. It was leaking very slightly. After I replaced the fitting and fired it up the pressure gauge went to about 25#'s and stayed there, even after I shut it down. I removed the gauge again and found the inside mechanism of the gauge loose in the housing. When I tightened up everything it seemed to work properly. I have not had a chance to drive it yet, just running it in the garage and so far it looks good. I figured it should not make much difference if the engine is warm or not because warm
oil probably never gets to the gauge. The pressures change when it warms up, but I don't know how else that should affect the gauge. Thanks again for all the help guys. Mark
