No experience with the blankets, have always considered them a partially effective bandaid.

I recently installed a Lakewood bellhousing on my Pond 482. I was very easy to install. The bore was 0.000" right to left and only 0.0025" off top to bottom, well within acceptable tolerances. It took 10 minutes to check with the dial indicator. I'd heard that Lakewood's quality control had much improved. I'm a believer now..
