Most definitely you'll need to use a block plate. You can find them here used in wrecking yards in excellent condition for $10-15 dollars.

If you are not in a big hurry I'll send one to you for the shipping charges after the first of the year. I'm putting on a scattersheild and will have no use for the old block plate or bellhousing
