Manowar,
I got ya. I do agree the grief of any modification and costs are a major consideration. The old "if it aint broke" often makes a lot of sense. All the info available on the net states up to 90 % of wear is caused by starting the engine. The newer syn. oils and I use Lucas additive in addition are much improved over older tachnologies. An ignition kill to delay start up before oil is circulated would be a big help also. The time between start ups is a concern that got me to go the extra cost and time.
Take care. Jeff C
"Engine experts, including those at McDonnell Douglas and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) have demonstrated that the majority of all mechanical wear occurs during engine start up. Some SAE studies show that up to 90% of this wear occurs during this time. Experts believe one start is equivalent to 500 miles of normal driving." from http://www.pre-luber.com/99privatecoachart.htm
