There were really two flavors of comp cars, besides the FIA configuration: USRRC and SCCA... the respective rules of each determined the config....but they were both comp configurations.

'Werks is correct...in addition to the USRRC car having the full windshield, the windshield was also "laid back" for less wind resistance. That was called
Improved Aerodynamics back in the day!
