I thought I was up for this meet, but the hits just keep on coming. On Dec. 18 after some 38 months I finally picked up my car (on a trailer), from Holliday Motorsports in Huntsville, TX. Knowing that another Holliday creation(Rich Lihou's car) had spun a bearing with less than 50 miles on the engine, the first thing I did was take the car directly to have the
oil changed. The
oil didn't look too bad so I thought I was home free. The next day I took the car to a local auto shop to have a few things fixed and get the car inspected. While the guys were trying to tune the engine it quit running and would not turn over again. When we could not turn the engine over with a breaker bar, we finally pulled the pan and found (you guessed it!), a spun main bearing. This is with virtually no miles on this engine. The engine is now in the hands of a PROFESSIONAL engine builder, but it looks like it will be 4 to 6 weeks before it's ready to go. This was supposed to be a turnkey Cobra replica, but after 38 months not only is it not finished, but much of what has been done was not done right. I won't get into the numerous problems with the car in this forum, but when I get a final estimate as to what it will cost to fix and finish this car(I plan to do most of the work myself), I will post details on the Consumer Watch Forum. Other than that, things are just great! Happy New Year!
