I would think it would be real easy for any competent machinist to fabricate a thin simple adapter to put real carburetors on this thing and lose the laughable Edelbrock carbs, no? There's so many options, you could machine the top of the manifold itself, put on adapter plates, do both, etc. All can be done with an eye on hood clearance issues, and none of it should be real involved or expensive.
