Gerry's car is not the only unique 1963 Comp Car that the Kirkhams have up their sleeves. I worked with Tom and David to get my dream car built -- a 1963 style Comp car as raced by the Shelby team in the USRRC series in the US. It is a combination of a "Sebring" car and a "LeMans Replica." It has an FIA welded-on hoodscoop, FIA fuel filler cap location, rounded or "Joseph" rear flares, slabside front flares (LeMans car features). I have small vents like LeMans replica CSX2136 and a standard trunk lid (true "LeMans Replicas" had short, bottom hinged trunks). The car also has other 1963 Cobra features like other early rack and pinion cars prior to CSX2201 including Lucas electrics (including cloth covered wiring), and the DB10 and Flasher relay mounted on the driver's side front fender, Smiths Gauges with a 160 mph clockwise speedo. I also have the correct radium tipped switches and 8k Sun tach. The hood will be finished off with correct "tear-drop" hood latch handles.

The suspension is original style tubular suspension with leafsprings and Girling brakes.

The car is currently being painted like the most famous of the Sebring cars, 2128 (black with yellow striping and white number meatballs)

Thanks to Tom and David for their help in building this unique car.
