Are you buying #2540 new or used? If it's new...no need to "check it out"...it should be right.

Used...I'd ask for service records...which dealer the original car was bought through...and any crash damage. Unless the current owner has done a poor job of servicing the car, the service records should be furnished. The original dealer will help you figure out how the car was equipped when it was sold...which will help you determine what has and what hasn't been done to the car. Crash damage...unless the fiberglass and paint was expertly repaired...should be readily noticeable. Check in the boot...look at the inner rear fenders...look at the frame and bottom of the car...check the inner front fenders, under the hood, etc. You're looking for any fiberglass that looks like it's been replaced. Paint should be showcar smooth...color sanded, and polished perfectly....no orange peel...no sags or runs. Any of that would make me want to inquire as to crash damage and repair. Look for replaced front A-arms....rear, too. Drive the car....any pulls to right or left...? These cars are very susceptible to out of balance front wheels....if the steering wheel shakes a little at a certain speed, speed up a little and see if it goes away. If it does, it's probably just an out of balance wheel...or out of round tire...both easily fixable. If it doesn't I might suspect a loose steering rack, or an alignment problem...which, too, is fixable and wouldn't stop me from buying the right car.

#2540 is a pretty recent car....it shouldn't be in bad shape, if it's used.

Hope this helps....
