Rebel1, still laughing!
Well, the plate WAS in the boot and I showed him and actually did mention the cars' recent repaint etc and that special brackets were being made up. Tell you what though, this "person" sure wanted to show the world his authority. Today I went to bunnings, bought a couple of brackets, bent them to shape and presto, plate is on.

.
This is the best way I thought without being an eyesore.

Hate having it there though but if it means keeping the buggers off me then so be it! I've been breathalized twice in it, followed by the Highway patrol several times in it (including yesterday going home straight after the fine), been told what a great car it is (by a female officer of course) and nothing, not a word, just admiration. I have several Sergeant friends who absolutely love the car and I had to stumble across the one with an inferiority complex. Anyway, what's done is done, I will send this letter off and wait for an answer, however should it come back unfavourable I will take the appropriate action to see if I could at least have the demerit points waived as I believe the demerit point system should be used when driving offences take place, using demerit points for this such offence is ridiculous!
