Last year I made reservations at the Hampton in January, but forgot to write down my confirmation #. I called about a week ahead of arrival, and they had no record of my reservation, so I booked at the Days Inn just around the corner. After I arrived and unpacked all my stuff, guess who called and said they had an opening? Not wanting to pack up all my stuff and move again, I told the Hampton that I was happy where I was, and believe it or not, they got a little upset at me. Try talking to someone who is actually in charge there, rather than who is on the desk. They don't appear to have the best record keeping in the world. Maybe there is just a "misunderstanding". Who knows, you could get lucky.
