I met a guy (Richard) in Darwin recently who has an old Toyota Crown kit.
The car is finished really nicely, I have seen it around Darwin several times, so I jumped at the chance to go for a ride in it when he offered.
Although we were sitting on the speed limit, it was amazing the number of cars that were going past us, Richard says it happens a lot, they all catch up to have a look and then keep driving past so they don't look so stupid.
In between tropical downpours, down the Stuart Highway and into the 130kmph zone. He is running an XR8, automatic, highway diff (2.77) or similar, it has really long legs, but man o man, that thing is a rocket, 130ish

before it changed into third gear.
Excellent fun, and I got to drive it back home. Not my car so I took it easy, you can just tell that it could wind off the clock (240kmph) without any issue at all.
Just thought I'd share my childish enthusiasm.
