You can get a small roll bar from a older 4 cylinder car, equally a VT-VZ commodore has a nice small rear roll bar. My Lotus 7 clubman has no roll bars at all and handles better than any car I've driven. You only need a roll bar if you have a high center of gravity relative to your suspension roll center. (not likely on a cobra!!)
