I would be concerned about the testing requirements the MVR would make you pass before they supplied you full rego.

In the distant future I plan on making tubular rear control arms for my car (way distant), The weight saving would be hge, I am just concerned that the MVR would want tests and welding certificates supplied if presenting the car for the VIN # inspection (first rego).
