Ok, here is the deal. I have a 289 that I will be assembling for a Cobra some day. I have two different toploaders as well - one from a Mustang (HEH-G) and one from a Galaxie (HEH-CC). Since both are wide ratio boxes according to the chart on David's website, which should I do:

A) Use the Mustang tranny and sell the Galaxie unit.

B) Use the Galaxie tranny and sell the Mustang unit.

C) Sell both and buy a T5 or something else.

If I do B) I would need to change the input shaft - should I swap it and sell the Mustang tranny for parts? I don't really want the reversed shifter as I want to build a 289 car - so the Galaxie tranny is in the lead in my mind right now.

Does anyone know a good source for the shifter rods for the Galaxie?
