Dirk, short answer, I'd say no effect on intake flow if you run an air filter and proper cleaner assembly.
From what Pete found on the coupe testing, I wouldn't be surprised if you actually have air flowing in the back and out the front like he did with the coupe (if you seal it to the carb or motor). If so, the venturi effect past the carb "might" cause some problems, but I doubt it, since the air coming in the back would go into a larger area (the turkey pan or engine compartment) and tend to pressurize that area before air exited at the front opening. I'd bet the air speed past the air cleaner would likely be low, and the main benefit would be cool air, not ram air (I think you get like 1.5-2% benefit from ram air at 150 mph, but maybe 5%+ from cool air regardless of the speed).
