Not really, there were some but an outcome of the 1929/30 depression was that significant tariffs were placed on a number of items to protect jobs. These were not seriously reviewed until the late 60's at which time protection for machinery and mechanical assemblies ranged up to 75%.
However the early Mustangs are popular here now because cars over 30yrs dont have to be converted to RHD.
