Gawwwddd Mick, they are good fish. I hope you got as crook as a chook catching them.
By way of mention, my son and his mate make a annual pilgrimage to 1770 and usually come back with a years supply of similar fish.
They tow up a Bertram 23 and pitch a tent in the public camping grounds. Usually stay for a week or 10 days depending on the weather but spend most of the time out on the boat.
If the weather is crook they spend time at some pub up there. They're not big drinkers... just try to pick up as many lady backpackers as they can.
You live in gods country mate.....only one spot possibly better....Port Douglas. ( ahhhhh, the memories of a mis-spent youth.)
