You are not alone....My build buddy and I refuse to camp so we book a cheap hotel its a French hotel group called B&B. The bookings for the hotels in Le Mans ( two hotels 160 rooms) open up 18 months before the event and we were on the phone at 9.00 ( French time) on the first day we could book. By the time we had got onto the system all rooms had gone apart from a family room , which meant we had to share, which also meant that to innoculate myself against my friend's horrendous snoring I was mainly inebriated for the whole weekend........
I am told however that camping against the track is the best way to soak up the atmosphere, although rehanging a Cobra's underfloor exhaust, lying in a green fog emenating from the toilets at floor height like a vile smelling poison cloud ( hows that for an atmosphere) , in over 30 degrees celcius of heat, certainly reaffirmed my wish never to go within 200 metres of a camp site "dunny" ever again.
Cheers,
Tony
