Don't feel bad, most recently I have asked not to give history when explaining something. I replied that it was necessary because everyone I am managing seems to forget what they said or promissed to do.
OR, they have a complete brain fart and ask the same thing ten times over a two week period of time.
Hence we start with, "Do you remember when..."
