There were laws passed a few years ago to secure the borders. That is still not done. Both the Bush and Clinton administrations failed to get it done.
The Coburn Amendment (#1311) was to make sure that the previous laws were carried out and that borders were secured before any kind of amnesty would be given to anyone. Basically, it said that previous laws regarding immigration and secure borders would have to be carried out before any new ones would take effect.
It got voted down. So, in theory, all the people who voted against it voted to not carry out the laws of the US.
There are a couple of roads being repaved near my house, so I can probably get some tar. Anybody have any extra feathers?
