We have a Ricard. Bought it like 6-7 years ago and have beat the crap out of it. The thing never dies and we have 2 dogs and a cat, so hair is an issue.

It wasn't cheap, like $500, but worth every penny after the Hoover melted down when hair clogged the motor filter and the plastic melted.
