Keep it dry...I use turtle wax bug, tar and tree sap, remover to get the bugs off..spray it on rub lightly and wipe off...no water(water turns it to a gooey paste). Then use a spray detailer...Mequiers, Mothers or now my favorite, Turtle Wax Ice...it leaves no "white" on the black or rubber parts.
Only thing I use water on is the under carriage when I can't get it clean with a rag.
