Not Ranked
Not a find but a great encounter:
When I was 16 years old (1968) and working as a bag boy at Pantry Pride in Jacksonville, Florida there was a couple that came in every Saturday for groceries and always looked for me. They owned a shoe store in downtown Jax and were not hurting for money. They were a down to earth couple probably in their mid 50's. One Saturday they were not in their usual family car but in a new Corvette, which I being a 16 year old drooled all over. When I asked if they traded it in I was told no, that this was one out of the guys collection of sports cars, and that he had three in his collection. A couple of weeks later he came in and they were in another Vette, a 1960 I believe. Since the family car and two of his collection were Cheverolets I assumed the third sports car was another Vette. Well, a few weeks later I was pleasently suprised when they came in driving an AC Cobra and I was SNAKE BIT....wanted one ever since. Don't know what ever happened to those wonderful folks or their collection but I will always have the memory. It made working Saturdays a less miserable waiting on those kind folks.
