I usually wear a ball cap. I have on occasion worn a 'safari style' hat with a strap under the chin, and a wide brim. Works well when it is so hot and sunny here in Dallas.

After suffering from stray hairs whipping across my eyes (it hurts!!) I finally went to the harley store and bought some WONDERFUL sunglasses. They are regular looking sunglasses, not goggles, but have a foam liner all the way around the edges. Keeps hair, dust, grass, little gnats etc. from getting to my eyes. They weren't cheap, but for $70 I got the glasses, a pouch, and best of all? a set of clear lenses that pop in and out very easily. Makes using them at night possible. They stay in my Cobra.
Kristen | I have great sunglasses, not very costly ($59-$69). They were designed for airplane pilots and they can even be used as safety glasses. Besides that, they can be used over a pair of corrective vision glasses. They come in different shades and the yellow ones increase the contrast in dust or fog.
They can be bought on Internet. They are called "Zurich" sunglasses. I have 6 pairs of them . They give a protection against dust and wind. No more red eyes with them.
