Mine is in the same hole as yours and the braking is pretty marginal. I have been too lazy to take it all apart and move it.

In a tech article by one of the aftermarket performance brake manufacturers, they recommend never going past 90 degrees or the braking force drops of dramaticaly. Unfortunatly, I can substantiate this.
