Even if it was in a boat, and that certainly appears to be the case, it doesn't mean this is a 'bad' engine. It IS, however, a misleading ad at best. Makes it sound like 'zero hours' on the motor, and if installed in a boat, you can bet it has some HARD hours on it!
Regardless of the above, if I were buying the engine I wouldn't run it 'as is'. It would be taken down to the bare block and totally inspected/rebuilt. The question would be: How many hours does the block have on it? With the thin wall construction of a side oiler block will it need to be sleeved? How much machine shop work are we talking about here? You'll never know till you buy it!
