I would suggest not using the existing tapped holes with longer screws.
I have heard of people breaking the glass because of wrong length screws.
Do asearch right here on this forum.
Roscoe, I and others did not use the existing locations but located new positions some people drilled and tapped.
I drilled thru the brass, chrome plated frame behing the glass more towards the passenger side of the glass and simply used longer stainless hardware with the nuts that have a dome on them, sorry don't no the name, but you can't see the screw.
Look great and no issues with the glass.
