Over here in NZ, we are allowed to run race style screens, but they are funny about repro cars, for eg if you owned a old Bentley race car with the small race screens no problem as that was that particular model.
Motorcycles have them so its really your choice if you want a screen or nothing at all. For our initial certification the guy told me that the bottom 4" or so needs to be blanked out and you must be able to see over it, my mind boggles to that logic about blanking out the lower part almost to make it into a body part and not see through.

I think they purposely try and show they are in control and we must do as they decide.........F***wits.
