Well, Shelby himself didn't do much on the original cars either, that's why you hire people to do your work

The Shelby GT is just a bolt on car, pretty much just body parts, wheels, intake, exhaust and tuning.
Not really much different than a base model Roush or Saleen and they cost just as much.
