G'day Alvin,
An old method is to cruise car yards then wreckers to see how colours "age". Another method is to find a busy road and sit back and watch the world go by. This time last year I bought a new car. a nissan that has a colour called Pewter. I had to wait a couple of months for it to become a production line "run" colour. It was worth the wait. I've also painted my Cobras' chassis with a silver base coat colour. This particular colour is supposed to be mixed with other shades etc. It is so sparkley and brilliant that you can't look at in the sunlight for too long. Maybe a tad too much for a body finish. Try a decent paint shop or even a ford dealership that handles paintwork stuff.( that's where I found the original cobra Guardsman- Blue paint code and the colour that I liked. ) They should have sample "swatches" to look at. ( there were 93 different shades of blue ) there should be a lot of silver as it's the new white !
Good luck in your search,
Smithy
