Had a few spare minutes the other day and I came up with the following numbers -

If your engine is turning 2,000 rpm at 60 MPH you're getting 8,000 power strokes per mile and 133 power strokes per second. Each power stroke is pushing your snake 7.92 inches.

If your engine is turning 2,500 rpm at 60 MPH you're getting 10,000 power strokes per mile and 167 power strokes per second. Each power stroke is pushing your snake 6.37 inches.

If your engine is turning 3,000 rpm at 60 MPH you're getting 12,000 power strokes per mile and 200 power strokes per second. Each power stroke is pushing your snake 5.28 inches.

If your engine is turning 3,500 rpm at 60 MPH you're getting 14,000 power strokes per mile and 233 power strokes per second. Each power stroke is pushing your snake 4.53 inches.

If you're some place in between just interpolate the data, if you're spinning faster than 3,500 rpm extrapolate the data.

It's amazing that these engines stay together as long as they do.
