Part of it was devoted to new battery technology that will be used in the coming Hybrid and electric auto era and they had several minutes of footage of the Tesla Roadster including a segment on the super light bonded aluminum monocoque frame.

The all-electric Roadster ( http://www.teslamotors.com/ ) looks Ferrari-like and does 0 to 60 in about 4 seconds. It is claimed to have a 200 mile range at about $.02 per mile and only 14 moving parts. I would think auto manufacturers and the petroleum industry would greatly fear this. Might be a struggle to actually get to market with it.

It's a Lotus Elise chassis. It is also built under contract by Lotus for Tesla. They will make it to market, but the real question is what happens down the road when very expensive batteries must be replaced.
