I re-built a 462 as a project for automechanics back in HS. The odd thing was the head only had like 10cc combustion chambers and otherwise the head was flat with valves sticking out away from the surface. The "combustion chamber" if you can call it that was around the sparkplug. I installed it back in the '66 Lincoln it came from and while the thing had huge amounts of torque other than pulling the barge it was built for it was pretty useless in the performance catagory. Other than the 534 truck engine it has to be the most odd Ford I've every worked on.
