There is a shorter filter than the FL 300 that is used in MOPAR applications but I believe the threads are different size. The filter media is reduced and there is more pressure drop when forcing the volume of oil through it that a V8 uses in lieu of the OEM application for which the filter was intended. A remote filter IS the best alternative, as you can at the same time allow for a full size filter.
