Rod, no, you don't need a VIN before applying for an SB100 Sequence number. You need a VIN in order to complete the titling process. What Doug is doing is getting his VIN first - that's ok.

Doug, My SPF Chassis plate says "SP01019" - that is the same that's stamped on the frame, and that is what the CHP used as my official VIN.
