As I remember, the heads/rockers didn't
oil well. When I owned my 56 Ford truck, (25 years ago) it had an external oiler that fed
oil through a tube to the rear most valve cover bolt. It was hollow and carried
oil to the rocker shaft. The other end of the tube screwed into a galley on the side of the block. Wasn't pretty but it sure worked.
