Rod,
I've had a similar issue, but with quite a bit of track time scheduled, I haven't had much time to focus on things lower on the priority list, up until this morning.
I removed the steering wheel and hub, then then turn signal assy, unplugging it from behind the dash. After ohming out the assy, a found no continuity between the input wire and right turn wire when activated.
With the assy in my lap, from the back there is a large snap ring that holds everything together. After dissassmebly, I found a fair amount of dirt ( alum shaving dust and some kind of antiseize) on the electrical contacts and inside the whole assy.
After cleaning everything with WD40 and a clean rag, reassemling all the bits, and Viola. She works like brand new. It's all really simple in there, and it wouldn't take much fpor it to not work at all.
Hope this helps,
Richard
