Rod you have jumped the gun a little bit with the registration. You really only need to do that when your ready to drive or Jan 2nd (which ever comes first!).

This just means that your renewal fees will be due again this time next year, no matter when you get it on the road.

Also, DMV may reject your registration for not including reciepts for engine trans, ect., for tax purposes! This State frowns on tax evaders! You'll need to ammend your registration application to include these.

When do you plan on installing an engine?
