I've never done it before myself, but just looking at the geometry, I would guess that if you got two helpers and each applied pressure to each of the rear tires simultaneously moving them toward the rear of the car the two lower arm ends would move closer together allowing the tie bar to be slipped over the ends of the pivot bars. Again, not first hand experience, but looking under my car I'm guessing it would work. It certainly couldn't hurt to try! Good luck.
