We trim them all of the time. we always seem to get into clearance problems either with the ground or somthing else, like you have explained. Now the bad news. Im sure you know this but I thought I would still remind you, according to lakewood and Im sure all of the manufactures are on the same page as well as some of the sanctioning bodies, any type of modification like we are talking about voids the safety and integrity of the piece. Somtimes you gotta do what you gotta do...................good luck
