No . The ctanks were drilled with interconnecting passages from the front to the rear---you could put oil in number 1 and get it to come out number 8

Ford developed a crank for the 427 that had large passages drilled thru it, sealed the holes with plugs and snap rings--I.m sure you have seen some pics

Back then , it was stated in maybe an SAE paper or something similar that the centrifucacle force whould pump oil at 7000 rpm---

Up until then it was necessary to have enogh pressure to overcome c force of 1/2 the main dia at x rpm
