Personally I think option 3 is the go.

1. We just form an organisation like the Street Rod Federation.
2. We define what our vehicles are called e.g. Shelby Classics and include in that definition Cobras, Daytonas & GT40s.
3. We just copy and paste the Street Rod regulations and change what is different for us. Street Rod regulations already include nearly everything we want. We should make them as tight and safe as possible without compromising what people want out of a Cobra/Daytona/GT40. e.g. specify chassis torsional test requirements, side anti-intrusion bars etc.

I think our best chance is arguing that if the Street Rod regulations are allowed, then we should be able to do the same thing.

We may not get anywhere, but it's certainly worth a try.

Well that's my opinion anyway...
